Sin saberlo doblé el tiempo (Unknowingly, I Bent Time) brings back
María Fernanda Camarena and Gabriel Rosas Alemán to revisit their
original spaces, temporalities, and primal forms. Like an implicit
statement, this gesture cuts across the concrete and symbolic threads
that have permeated the creative duo’s dialogues from their inception.
They carefully look back, opening up temporal and conceptual
interstices. This intentional vision creates a pivotal opening
where their ritual landscape of spherical bodies unfolds the past
construction, the present activation, and the future unknown.
Celeste bends and multiplies time, but also space. Both become
spirals, reversible in nature. Devoid of a frame, the center refuses
definition. The strokes and veils elude it, while color and newfound
pictorial impetus challenge the walls, as if returning the elements
to the atmosphere. The curtain, akin to a garment, conceals while
designating. It is the screen of a stage that could be inhabited. Its
construction, folding and unfolding, generates tension where its
purpose is no longer to enclose space but to reflect time.
